If you were to put a bunch of performers in a room and to close the door, no one could guess the outcome, but I would assume chaos. In order to maintain order there needs to be someone in charge: someone who can keep track of every aspect of the performance and meet the needs of the artists involved. I just so happen to be that person, the Stage Manager. Stage Managers are the backstage boss that are commonly overlooked by those who don't do theatre. I want to shine light on what really needs to happen months before anyone even enters the performance space. This semester I am Stage Manageing SUU TAD departments show "Speech and Debate", that opens February 27th and closes March 9th, and would like to use my finalized Stage Management book (bible) to demonstrate what really goes on. I plan to take portions of my bible and breaking down what I did and why I did it to make sure the show ran as smoothy as possible.
